Frequently asked questions
What is the arena bag policy?
For the safety and convenience of all guests, CHI Health Center Omaha enforces a clear bag policy that has been in place for several years. The following items are permitted:
- Clear, uncolored plastic tote bags
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (such as Ziploc or similar)
- Small or clutch-sized opaque purses/wallets (no larger than 4.5 inches tall by 6.5 inches long)
All bags are subject to security screening. Only one bag is allowed per ticket holder. This policy continues to enhance the safety and experience for all guests.
Please note: This policy does not necessarily apply to Convention Center events, so we recommend checking in advance if you have any questions regarding bag restrictions for those events.
Can I place my oversized purse inside a clear plastic bag?
No, only bags that meet our guidelines (4.5 inches tall by 6.5 inches long or smaller) will be permitted after a proper search. Only clear bags or small bags that meet these size requirements will be allowed; all items must be easily visible during security screening.
What if I accidentally bring a bag or item that is not permitted?
If a patron arrives with an unapproved bag, they will be asked to either return it to their vehicle or dispose of it as they see fit. For safety and security reasons, CHI Health Center Omaha staff are unable to hold or store bags on the premises. We encourage guests to plan accordingly to ensure a smooth entry experience. Unattended bags will be treated as a potential security threat and are likely to be disposed of.

What if I have medical items that won’t fit in a clear plastic bag?
MECA is happy to accommodate bags that are required for medical necessity. If you need to bring a medical bag, please reach out to us in advance or upon arrival so we can assist with a proper security screening. Each medical bag will need to be searched and tagged by security before entry. If you’re unsure whether your bag qualifies, we encourage you to contact us beforehand for clarification.
Do diaper bags need to be clear?
Yes, diaper bags must be clear to ensure a smooth entry process. By allowing larger-sized clear tote bags, we aim to minimize potential inconvenience for families. Please remember, only one bag per ticketholder is permitted.
How can I expedite my way through the security line?
To get through security quicker, we recommend arriving early. Doors at CHI Health Center Omaha typically open 90 minutes to an hour before an event, but please check our social media for the exact times as they may vary. For safety, all attendees must go through metal detectors. Arriving early helps avoid long lines, especially as showtime approaches, when an influx of latecomers can slow down the entry process.
Is it possible to store my bag on-site?
No, bags that do not meet the arena policy cannot be stored on-site. For security reasons, any unattended bags will be treated as potential threats and may be disposed of. If your bag does not meet the guidelines, please return it to your vehicle before entering.
