Ticket Sales: Lottery Process Explained

If there are twelve or more guests waiting at the CHI Health Center Omaha Box Office at the time of an initial on-sale, a lottery will be held to determine the line order.

The lottery system has been in place since CHI Health Center Omaha first opened, ensuring the fairest possible ticket sales process for all guests. By removing the incentive for early arrivals, the lottery saves guests time and helps reduce the likelihood of scalpers getting to the front of the line. In the past, scalpers have paid people to wait hours in advance to secure a spot at the front.

Here’s how the lottery works:

  • Thirty minutes before the on-sale, each person 16 years or older in line will receive a number.
  • The numbers will be placed into a box, and a CHI Health Center Omaha team member will randomly draw one number.
  • The person holding the drawn number will be the first in line, followed by others in the order their numbers were drawn.
  • For example: if number 5 is drawn, the person with number 5 becomes first in line, followed by numbers 6, 7, 8, etc.
  • Once the highest number is reached, the person with number 1 will join the line, followed by the remaining guests in numerical order.

If you arrive after the lottery numbers are assigned, you will join the line at the end, behind those who have received a number.
