“The 2027 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup will bring together an extraordinary field of national teams, showcasing the very best our sport has to offer,” said FIVB President Fabio Azevedo.
Omaha Hosts No. 1 Italy and Seven Other Nations at CHI Health Center
Omaha is one of five host cities for the tournament. It will welcome two of the eight pools to CHI Health Center Omaha during pool play, August 20-25, 2027, and the venue will also host the Round of 16.
Pool A is led by top-ranked Italy, which begins its World Cup title pursuit in Omaha. Italy is joined by Belgium, Colombia and Puerto Rico. Pool F brings Japan, Russia, Argentina and Bulgaria to Nebraska.
Teams that advance will move toward the quarterfinals, semifinals and medal matches at Honda Center in Anaheim, the volleyball venue for the LA28 Olympic Games. Because the tournament is also an official LA28 qualification pathway, Omaha’s matches are part of the race for Olympic berths.
Team USA’s Path Runs Through Omaha
The fourth-ranked United States opens World Cup play in Orlando as part of Pool D, alongside Thailand, Mexico and Greece. For American fans, the road may lead to Omaha next. If Team USA finishes in the top two of its pool, it will play its Round of 16 match at CHI Health Center Omaha.
From the knockout stage, teams will head to the Honda Center in Anaheim, California for the quarterfinals, semifinals and medal matches.
